Lectionary: December 17, 2017

In the church calendar, the season of Advent commemorates Christ’s first coming and looks in expectation to His second coming in the future.  This Sunday, we light the Joy Candle to remind us again that “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.”
Here are the readings for the Third Sunday of Advent:

Isaiah 61:1-4, 8-11; Psalm 126; I Thessalonians 5:16-24; John 1:6-8, 19-28
